I was so happy when this expecting mom called and wanted to book a maternity session, a somewhat last minute session, one week before her little boy was due.
I think she had the back and forth that a lot of women have-- to do, or not to do, a maternity session. Let me help you out--go ahead and book a maternity shoot. As Nickie put it when she called me for a session "I didn't think I wanted pictures, but now I have changed my mind." And its a good thing, because look how great she looks!!
Honestly, I can totally understand why some women don't want to have a portrait session while they are pregnant. (And then in my mind I chastise myself for even admitting that "no! bad photographer!" lol) Some women feel amazing and beautiful when they are pregnant. I felt like a blob...like the girl in Willy Wonka who the Oompa-Loompas had to roll out of the room. We undergo so many changes in such a short amount of time, having some quality images to document it is such a special thing.
Now Nickie will have maternity pictures and newborn portraits to pass down to her children. Her baby boy is such a sweet heart and I can't wait to show y'all his portraits on the blog in a couple weeks. In the meantime, below are my favorite images from this shoot. Beautiful couple with the lights in downtown Fairhope.
